Standing Together: Good Day Pharmacy and 911 Overwatch Unite for First Responder Wellness

Six smiling people pose together outdoors by cars with logos. They're in casual attire with trees and a clear sky in the background.

At Good Day Pharmacy, we believe that healing doesn’t happen in isolation—it happens in community. And few communities are more deserving of care, compassion, and unwavering support than our first responders. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to partner with 911 Overwatch, an initiative led by First Responder Trauma Counselors (FRTC), to support the mental and emotional wellness of the heroes who support us every day.

This partnership is more than professional—it’s deeply personal. First responders endure what most of us can’t imagine: long hours, life-threatening emergencies, trauma, loss, and the emotional toll of being someone else’s strength in their darkest moments. 911 Overwatch exists to ensure they never have to carry that weight alone. A Visit That Left a Lasting Impression A couple of weeks ago, some of our Good Day Pharmacy team members—joined by our President and COO—had the opportunity to visit 911 Overwatch and meet the incredible team behind the mission, including Gail White and founders Ed and Joanne Rupert. It was an experience none of us will soon forget.

From the moment we walked through the doors, there was a palpable sense of peace and lightness—an unexpected comfort in a place that serves those navigating some of the darkest and heaviest moments of their lives. Nestled among Colorado’s open landscapes, with breathtaking mountain views and skies that seem to stretch forever, the 911 Overwatch Center is a place of hope, healing, and profound resilience. We were warmly welcomed by Joanne and Ed Rupert, the founders of 911 Overwatch. Joanne, also CEO of FRTC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 30 years of experience in First Response. With a background in Ambulance, Fire, and Law Enforcement, she brings not only clinical expertise but also a deep, lived understanding of the work. Her strength, compassion, and perfectly timed dark humor brought both comfort and levity to our visit—instantly making us feel at home.

Her husband, Ed, a retired detective and Certified Hypnotherapist, brings over 50 years of firsthand experience in the First Responder world. Now a PhD candidate in Counseling Psychology, Ed shared powerful insights from a life spent in service. One moment that stuck with us was when he said, "There are no atheists in foxholes." That simple truth echoed the purpose of the chapel they plan to build on-site—a future refuge for those seeking comfort, faith, or simply a quiet space to process the unthinkable.

But the dreams don't stop there.

911 Overwatch has big plans to grow, adding new ways to serve those who serve us. One initiative we’re especially inspired by is their plan to introduce therapeutic beekeeping. While the science is still emerging, beekeeping has shown to reduce stress, encourage mindfulness, and build a sense of purpose and resilience.

For trauma survivors, especially first responders, these benefits can be life-changing. The rhythmic hum of the bees, the connection to nature, and the act of caring for something fragile yet powerful offers a form of therapy that words alone often can’t reach.

About 911 Overwatch

911 Overwatch, through FRTC, provides specialized behavioral health care tailored exclusively for first responders and frontline workers. Their mission is built on trust, transparency, accountability, and integrity—values that resonate deeply with our own at Good Day Pharmacy.

Serving over 26 agencies across Northern Colorado, they offer confidential counseling, peer support training, and critical incident processing for first responders and their families. Perhaps most inspiring is their Regional Peer Support Team, a network of over 100 active first responders who have completed FRTC's rigorous 40-Hour National Peer Support Academy and are trained to support others through crisis, 24/7. How Good Day Pharmacy is Supporting Their Mission

At Good Day Pharmacy, we are honored to contribute to this mission by providing compounded ketamine therapy, which is used under medical supervision to support patients facing treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and other trauma-related conditions. It’s just one small piece of a much larger, deeply personal journey to healing—and we are grateful to play a part in it.

This partnership isn’t just about medicine—it’s about people. It’s about making sure our first responders know that their service, sacrifice, and pain do not go unseen. We see them. And we’re with them. You Can Help, Too

If this story moved you, you can help too. 911 Overwatch is actively raising funds to bring their chapel, beekeeping project, and other initiatives to life, expanding their ability to care for those who’ve spent their lives caring for us.

To support this mission or make a donation, visit 911Overwatch.org. Every contribution—big or small—goes toward helping someone find peace, purpose, and the strength to keep going.

From all of us at Good Day Pharmacy—thank you, 911 Overwatch, for letting us be part of something this meaningful. And to every first responder reading this: We see you. We appreciate you. And we’ll always stand with you.

With heartfelt gratitude, The Good Day Pharmacy Team “All Badges. All Uniforms. All Scrubs. All Together.”
