Each year, the Northern Colorado publication known as BizWest, holds its “40 Under Forty” awards to honor and celebrate young professionals that are “shaping the future of Northern Colorado.” (BizWest Media, 2021). “We were delighted to learn that our COO, Joseph Poling, was among the other 39 honorees chosen to be honored and celebrated on October 28th, for his impact on our communities and Colorado business,” said Vicki Einhellig, President and CEO of the independent pharmacy chain known in Northern Colorado as Good Day Pharmacy.

Joseph Poling, Pharm.D., grew up in Loveland, Colorado, and received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Wyoming. He began his career with Good Day in 2012 as a staff pharmacist and was quickly promoted in 2013 to pharmacy manager at Good Day Pharmacy’s Loveland, Colorado location. Joseph’s leadership skills, love for helping others learn and providing strategies for helping them succeed, goal development wisdom, and passion for independent pharmacy and patient care led him to become pharmacy operations manager in 2016. Then, in January of 2021, Joseph was once again promoted to COO, a promotion very much deserved according to the Good Day Pharmacy team.

Joseph, now an equity partner, helps lead a team of 140 employees at Good Day Pharmacy’s twelve locations. In addition to his COO role, Joseph provides leadership development content and is passionate about creating a winning culture. As a successful leader, he helped lead the Good Day team to an 11.6% increase in annual sales in 2020. “Joseph is all about intention, and our 11.6% increase was not by happenstance. Joseph formed goals with all the managers, helped provide them with the tools they needed for success, and made it happen,” said Karen Price, Public Relations Manager for Good Day.

“Ten years ago, I began my professional career with Good Day Pharmacy as a pharmacist. I knew my passion was independent pharmacy - little did I know how much I would LOVE what I get to do every day. Every day I strive to be a servant leader and lead through building strong relationships with my teammates, my patients, and other businesses and healthcare professionals within our communities. I help lead a team of over 140 INCREDIBLE pharmacists, technicians, and delivery drivers that serve all Northern Colorado. I empower my team to be their best and deliver results that impact the health of our patients and our communities,” said Joseph in his interview with BizWest Media.

Good Day Pharmacy is optimistic about the future with both Joseph Poling and Vicki Einhellig at the helm. Ms. Einhellig was also recently honored at BizWest’s Women of Distinction awards and has almost 35 years’ experience in the industry. She is a true leader and knows the pharmacy business inside and out, but states that she is always learning. Joseph, who strives to “bring smiles and joy to those I meet,” is planning for further Good Day Pharmacy success in 2022.
